INTRODUCTION:

Vauch App is owned by Vauch Logistics and Car Leasing Limited, Nigeria (“the Platform Manager”). Vauch Limited is thoroughly committed to protecting the privacy of our App users, site visitors and customers.

We fully appreciate and respect the importance of privacy on the Internet. We respect each visitor's and user’s right to personal privacy. This privacy policy governs how Vauch App and its affiliates collect and use personal data. This notice applies to all users of our app and website.

This notice describes the personal data we collect, how we use and shared your information to provide you with our services, and the choices and controls available to you.

SCOPE

This notice applies to users of Vauch App, including users of Vauch Mobile App and web interfaces, features, or other services.

Vauch App and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application; therefore, data provided by you may be transferred to clients to process services offered in the App in countries other than the one where our users live or use Vauch App services.

This notice specifically applies to:

• Vendors: Individuals and Organizations providing or publishing information about their rental services on the platform, including the name of their business, contact details, and information about their product and services.

• Clients: individuals and businesses, seeking car rental services and other business information about auto lease and logistics published on the App: users maybe requested to share personal data to access Vendors’ offerings, including their name, contact details, and information about their transactions.

All those subject to this notice are referred to as “users” in this notice.

DATA CONTROLLER AND TRANSFER

Vauch Logistics and Car Leasing Limited is the data controller for the personal data collected in connection with use of Vauch App services: Currently, Vauch App service and data collection is applicable to users who are purchasing services fulfilled in Nigeria; however, because Vauch App is an online marketplace, this privacy notice covers the use of the App service for the rest of the world.

The terms "we", "our", "us", “Vauch” or “Vauch Limited” refer to Vauch Logistics and Car Leasing Limited, incorporated and registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with registration code 8939188, The term “you” or “your” refer to App Users, who provide service or requests information about car rental services through their Vauch (the "App") account.

Vauch Logistics and Car Leasing Limited (Suite 11, 2nd Floor, Sinoki House, Plot 774, Samuel Ademulegun Avenue, CBD Abuja) are the data controllers for the personal data collected in connection with use of Vauch App services.

Questions, comments, and complaints about the App’s data practices can be sent to the Vauch App Data Compliance officer contact@vauchapp.io.

DATA COLLECTIONS AND USES

We collect information you provide directly to us on the App: when you sign up/register to receive information about services offered by Vendor users or enterprises; when you create an account or profile, order to book a vehicle published on the App, or when you communicate with us via third-party social media sites.

Vauch App collects and processes personal data:

• provided by users of Vauch, such as during account creation

• created during use of our services, such as location, app usage, and device data

• from other sources, such as other users or account owners, business partners, vendors, insurance and financial solution providers, and governmental authorities

We only collect and process information that we need to provide users services on our platform. The following personal data is collected on Vauch App:

1. Contact details: We collect data when users create or update their Vauch App accounts: like name, phone number and e-mail address and user’s address.

2. Profile information: things like your profile picture, login name and password, saved addresses.

3. Background check and verification: For some of our services we might require government regulatory data (which may include NIN, business registration number, vehicle registration number, and bank account statements, to verify the eligibility of certain users and businesses to provide services through the Vauch App.

4. Payment information: (including payment or banking information and related payment verification information) like the amount charged and the payment card used.

5. Communication and correspondence records such as when you engage with our in-app chat, or speak with our customer service agents.

6. User content: We collect the data submitted by users when they contact Vauch customer support, provide ratings or review. This may include information on your use of our website and/or mobile applications: we automatically collect and store certain types of information regarding your use of Vauch App, including information about your searches, views, and purchases, feedback collected by users, or transmitted by users in connection with customer support.

7. Information from third parties and publicly available sources: we may receive information about you from third parties including our carriers; payment service providers; merchants/brands.

HOW WE USE PERSONAL DATA

We use personal information collected for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests.

We use the information we collect or receive:

• To fulfill and manage your onboarding/engagement; to provide you with a service.

• To respond to legal requests and prevent harm. If we receive a subpoena or other legal request, we may need to inspect the data we hold to determine how to respond.

• With your consent, we may use the information you provide us for data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our services and to evaluate and improve our services, marketing and your experience.

• With your Consent, to send you marketing materials. We and/or our third-party partners may use the personal information you send to us for our marketing communication purposes, (you can opt-out of our marketing emails at any time, as stated in our “Your Privacy Rights” below).

• To send administrative information to you, such as information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.

• To verify your identity where necessary, in compliance with our legal obligations.

• For fraud detection, during or after use of the App.

We perform the above activities, including the collection and use of location data for purposes of these activities, on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users.

COOKIES AND HOW WE USE THEM

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we put on your computer if you agree. Cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of our website and mobile applications, which helps us to provide you with an enhanced browsing experience.

For example, we use cookies for the following purposes:

• Recognizing and counting the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they are using it (this helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by ensuring that users can find what they are looking for).

• Identifying your preferences and subscriptions e.g. saved items, items stored in your basket.

• Sending you notifications and messages tailored to your interests.

Our approved third parties may also set cookies when you use Vauch website. Third parties may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, and other technologies to identify the devices used by visitors to our websites.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We do not sell or share user personal data with third parties for their direct marketing. However, we may need to share your personal data with third parties for the following purposes:

• Vauch essentially facilitates the provision of vehicles to individuals and businesses; in order to deliver this service, we provide your personal data to enterprises and organizations registered on the network offering service to you.

• We engage third party businesses and vendors to perform certain functions on our behalf. Examples include analyzing data, processing payments, transmitting content, and providing customer service. This may also include, for example, other services, platforms, apps, or websites that integrate with our APIs.

• In the event that Vauch App is sold, or we acquire other businesses or services, customer information may be transferred together with other business assets.

• We release account and other personal data to other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk appraisal, and to comply with the law.

• When we share your personal data with third parties, we require them to agree to use your data in accordance with the terms of our Privacy Policy and in accordance with the law; and only permit them to process your personal data for agreed specified purposes.

SECURITY AND ACCESS

Any personal data collected in the course of providing our services is transferred to and stored in the data centres of Hostinger Web Services. Only authorized employees of Vauch App and partners have access to the personal data and they may access the data in order to fulfill our agreements with users, such as our Terms of Use, or based on users’ prior consent to resolve issues associated with the use of the services.

All data, like bulk geolocation data, is anonymized so users can never be identified from it.

CHOICE AND TRANSPARENCY

We enable users to control data that we collect to facilitate service when using the App. We do this by requesting user’s permission to access personal data or copies of their data, and only when such requests are granted can we access and collect such data.

Collection of the following data requires user’s consent when they launch the App or access the web version of Vauch via the Internet:

1. Personal Identification data collection. When onboarding or creating an account, users are required to input their National Identification Number. However, this data is not stored in our database, nor is it retrievable for our use.

2. Business registration number. Vendors offering car rental services are required to verify the status of the enterprise when creating a Vendor account.

3. Vehicle Plate Number. When listing a Car in the Vauch vehicle inventory, Car owners are required to input the Vehicle Plate number of the each car they are adding to their account.

4. Photo//Media data collection. Users get a notice to allow or decline access their gallery or media album to upload files or media to the database. Users can also enable/disable Vauch to collect photos or media data from their mobile devices through their device settings, which can be accessed via the Settings > Privacy (or Connections) > Photos/Media.

5. Notifications. Users may enable/disable Vauch to send notifications and information from us. Notifications may be enabled or disabled from their mobile devices through their device settings, which can be accessed via the Settings > Notifications.

DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Vauch retains user data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. We retain different categories of data for different periods of time depending on the type of data, the category of user to whom the data relates, and the purposes for which we collected the data.

Users may request deletion of their accounts at any time. We may retain user data after a deletion request due to legal or regulatory requirements or for reasons stated in this policy. Following an account deletion request, Vauch deletes the user’s account and data, unless they must be retained due to legal or regulatory requirements, or fraud prevention, or because of an issue relating to the user’s account such as an outstanding credit or an unresolved claim or dispute. We may retain such user’s account and data for a minimum of 90 days after a deletion request, except where retention is necessary for the above reasons.

YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS

We want you to stay in control of your personal data; you can view your personal information including your profile data and purchases transactions history.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us. You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is otherwise inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, object to or restrict processing of your personal data, and unsubscribe from our emails and newsletters.

You have the right to ask Vauch for copies of your personal information. There are some exemptions, such as when we have to balance the rights of others, which means you may not always receive all the information we process.

You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Vauch App Service is not intended for children under the age of 18. Accordingly, we do not intend to collect Personal Data from anyone we know to be under 18 years of age.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Data protection laws are important and we take our responsibilities with your data seriously.

In the event of a dispute relating to the processing of personal data, you have the right to contact Vauch App Data Protection Officer contact@vauchapp.io.

DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

Users are provided a button in-App to delete their account; when account deletion is completed, all user’s data will be inaccessible, and stored data will be automatically deleted from Vauch App database. Learn more about how to delete your account here http://vauchapp.io/delete-account.

UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE

Vauch App will continue to make changes to this privacy notice as part of our commitment to protecting your privacy and affording you even more transparency. If we make significant changes, we will notify users in advance of the changes through the Vauch in-app notification or through other means, such as email.

We encourage users to periodically review this notice for the latest information on our privacy practices. Use of our services after an update constitutes consent to the updated notice to the extent permitted by law.
